How to use this guide
The West Rand Tourism Routes will guide visitors through the vast and scenic wilderness of The West Rand which includes The Cradle of Humankind, Magaliesberg, Merafong, Mogale City, Muldersdrift, Randfontein & Westonaria. It showcases the major tourist attractions within the area, providing travellers with useful information to suit their interests. This website provides a map which showcases the area. Each route on the map is accompanied with details including GPS co-ordinates, along the specific route.

The West Rand’s Wildlife Watchers, includes a wide array of animals including the Big 5 & also some rarely-seen species that provide our dedicated viewers with a reward for hours of patient waiting. Besides the animals themselves, watchable wildlife describes an increasingly popular pursuit for many travellers. Wildlife watching is a pastime that can be enjoyed in any season & by any age group. Unlike a lot of other recreational activities, special equipment to watch wildlife, is not required. Wildlife watchers need to come equipped only with a sense of appreciation for our living resources and the knowledge of where to look for them. At many of our establishments, specialist guides will assist your Wildlife watching experience!
